  3. I realy liked this story... i especialy liked how the people at the end were humble and just left so that the old guy wouldnt find the sun. I think that if the rest of the world was like the couple in this story the world would be a much better place, if everyone just thought about someone else that they could be hurting before they did something then the whole world would still be a sunny place...

  4. Searching for summer I believe to be a parable of good and Evil. When the two honeymooners found light (good) they were happy, life was in order and flowed together beautifully. Yet in the darkness(Evil) when there was no sun there was chaos, and nothing was harmonious. ~Judy Campbell

  8. The moods of this story varied. It went from happy to gloomy to happy to scared and back to happy. The couple was the happy atmosphere. They were joyfully searching for light. the old man was the gloomy and scary atmosphere.

  9. The settings were two different settings. The fist setting was where they were unhappy at first. When they were unhappy, they really didn't believe in anything at what they could do. Most people think that they can't do anything, which they can, and others do think they can. The other setting was when they found the sun. After that they became more happy and joyful. Those were the two settings.

  10. The first mood in the story was gloomy and sad becasue everything was grey and dark. Then when the married couples went to search for the sun the mood changed. When they found the sun at the old girls house, it was happy becasue that was the first time they have seen the sun in a many years.

  11. At the beginning of the story the mood was very depressed because the setting was dark and grey. But at the very end of the story the mood changed to very happy, because the sun eventually came out.

  34. it was always dark and gross and the man was hateful full of gloom and unhappiness. The couple in the story was searching for sun and happiness they were very bright! They did find sun and a very cute happy old couple not knowing the world was full of darkness. When the newly young couple found the sun they were so incredibly happy but they had to leave and not tell the hateful old man so that he couldn't ruin the sunny place!Sometimes in life you have to give up things to help others.

  36. The story takes place during a nuclear winter wich makes the mood of most of the story feel very sad and lonesome. When the main characters find the a place where has not been blocked out the feeling changes dramaticly from depresing to very bright and cheerful.

  39. Searching for summer

There are two moods that were very obviously seen in this story in the beginning the mood was very gloomy and dark even though the couple got married. In the end of the story when the couple returned the bags to the elderly woman they discovered there that it was very peacefull and very bright at her house and it was because there was sunlight. The couple we're very unset when they had to leave. They we're also very unhappy with Mr.Noaks because he was being very rude and greety about where the sunlight was , and the couple did a very good thing by not telling Mr. Noaks where it was so it didn't ruin the peace of the elderly woman and her blind son.

  40. The story had two very different settings. In the first half of the story when sunlight was rare and thought to be nonexistant to some, the mood was very forlorn. It was sad, and everything seemed lost. Then, when they found sunlight nearer to the end or the middle of the story, the atmosphere changed to a more happy mood, like anything could be possible.

  53. When there was no sun people was moody, boring, plain, upset, and lathargic. Everything on the dark, cloudy side was dull looking and bitter. But, when the couple found the sun they was very happy and zealous. On the sunny side everything was colorful, and seemed more interesting than it did on the dark side.

So their was no sun so every one would always try and see if they could find some sun light even if they colud just see it for just a few seconds. But two people did find some light in this one place that only a few people know about. If you want to hear more you're just going to have to read the book.
